Pro Rank Tracker vs SEOmonitor: feature table
| Facet | Pro Rank Tracker | SEOmonitor |
|---|---|---|
| Primary workflow | Specialist SEO and AI tracking with branded client reporting. | SEO campaign planning, forecasting and monitoring for agencies and brands. |
| Search rankings | Daily top-100 desktop/mobile rankings, Google Maps, local pack and video tracking. | Daily Google top-100 tracking; country and city localisation; SERP features and AI Overviews. |
| AI / AEO / GEO monitoring | Daily prompt tracking across ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Perplexity, AI Overviews and AI Mode; mentions and citations. | Pro supports weekly paid tracking across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude. The separate AI Visibility Index is a quarterly market snapshot, currently covering the UK and Romania. |
| Research and forecasting | Tracking and AI prompt research; do not assume an independent backlink index or comprehensive audit suite. | Keyword research, clustering, campaign forecasting and content-performance analysis. |
| Technical / content auditing | Not verified as a complete technical crawler. | Content auditing; verify technical-crawl requirements separately. |
| Backlinks and citations | AI citation tracking is documented; this is different from a backlink index. | Not established here as a replacement for a dedicated backlink index. |
| Reports and team access | White-label report types, scheduled sharing and a client app; tier restrictions apply. | Campaign reports and forecasting; unlimited users; broader access on Pro. |
| API and integrations | Looker Studio/Data Studio on Pro; API and update-on-demand listed on Agency. | Pro includes platform API access, Looker Studio and MCP beta; GSC/GA connections have configured allowances. |
| Price basis | AI pricing page displays Starter $99/month for 500 prompt combinations and Pro $149 for 1,000; regular plans use shared terms. | Starter from €99/month; Pro from €299/month. Writer-Only from €25 is a different workflow. |
| Quotas and add-ons | One organic keyword/URL/engine/location/device combination costs one term. One AI prompt/URL/platform/location combination costs two terms. Multi-engine campaigns multiply usage. | Keywords, analytics connections, AI models and articles affect cost. AI tracking is advertised at €19 per 1,000 keywords per active model per month, rounded up; confirm Claude availability and billing in the account. |
| UK requirements | Any-location/language organic tracking and country/language AI support are advertised. Confirm each AI platform's UK targeting options. | UK keyword research and country/city targeting are documented. The AI Visibility Index includes the UK; specify UK settings separately for campaign AI tracking. |
| What needs care | 500 prompts does not mean 500 prompts on six engines at the same cost. Match platform, location and URL combinations before comparing the bill. | The AI Index and weekly campaign tracker use different samples and cadences. Neither is a direct measurement of ChatGPT search demand; Google volume weighting is a proxy. |
Documented features are provider claims; fit judgements are our editorial assessment. Unverified features are not assumed absent. Prices and usage allowances can change.
Observation frequency and the decision it supports
Pro Rank Tracker advertises daily AI tracking; SEOmonitor's paid model monitoring uses weekly updates. Daily observations may be useful when investigating a sudden shift or a short campaign. Weekly data may be adequate for a strategic content review. Neither schedule makes the underlying AI response deterministic.
Look for repeated samples, missing-response handling and model-version records. One answer per day may vary more than a weekly average based on several runs. Ask how historical comparisons handle an engine change, a failed request or a citation that redirects to a different URL.
Work out the true number of tracking combinations
Pro Rank Tracker charges terms for URL, platform, location and other tracking combinations. SEOmonitor describes AI blocks per thousand keywords per active model. A spreadsheet should model the same prompts, engines and markets; otherwise the supposedly cheaper product may simply collect less data.
For example, 100 AI prompts for one URL across three platforms and one location represent 300 prompt combinations. At Pro Rank Tracker's published two-term rule, that uses 600 terms. This is a billing calculation, not an assertion that every plan supports every combination without further restrictions.
Agency reporting and forecasting
Give both products the same client brief: rankings by service, citation visibility by topic, a summary of changes and the actions the client needs to take. Evaluate scheduled sharing, branding, access and export rather than judging the number of report templates alone.
If you must explain a forecast, inspect the assumptions behind search demand and expected clicks. If you mainly need to deliver evidence of observed positions, a specialist tracker may be enough. Our preference is therefore conditional on the workflow; a software purchase cannot itself create the predicted organic growth.
What to test before you pay
- Match the same country, device, keyword or prompt, engine and collection date.
- Inspect exact ranking URLs, full AI answers and citation destinations, including failed checks.
- Build your real client or management report and verify export limits.
- Calculate the complete recurring bill and confirm what happens to history after cancellation.

Frequently asked questions
Is SEOmonitor vs ProRankTracker a different comparison?
No. It is the same pair in reverse order; this page covers both search phrasings.
Does Pro Rank Tracker charge each AI engine separately?
Its published rule counts platform/location/URL prompt combinations, at two terms each. Expanding the same prompt to more platforms therefore increases term usage.
